Art is the purest expression of human nature. A concept that gives physical life to emotions, ideas and experiences that reflect the essence of being through multiple narratives and languages. AFTER ILUSSION: ’A Lasting Memento’ is a commitment to aesthetics, highlighting the fragility of truth and deception, themes deeply represented in art.
This exhibition brings together three different proposals: the work of Ángel de León, with an exclusive series in which he reinterprets classical myths and iconographies from the perspective of contemporary passions and delusions; the Lalique vases, designed by Terry Rodgers, which embody an idealised beauty of the body in a game of visual simulations; and, finally, a set of high period portraits, testimony to the idea of truth as a reflection of the greatness and dignity of the subject, transcending the simple reproduction of their physiognomy.
